Our team is here to walk you through your project details, timeline, and provide a clear estimate.
For residential use, we typically pour a minimum of 4 inches of high-strength concrete. However, for garages housing heavy machinery or driveways expecting oversized vehicles, we recommend a 5 to 6-inch pour to ensure long-term structural integrity and prevent cracking under pressure.
While concrete naturally shrinks, we minimize cracking through two key methods: installing a compacted granular sub-base to prevent settling and using precision-cut control joints. These joints act as “planned cracks,” allowing the concrete to expand and contract safely during temperature changes.
At ProFlo Concrete Pumping, we prioritize durability. We typically use rebar (steel reinforcement bars) tied in a grid pattern. Rebar provides significantly more structural strength than standard wire mesh, ensuring your slab can handle heavy loads without shifting or breaking.
For driveways, we recommend a Broom Finish. This provides a non-slip texture that is essential for traction during rain or icy winter months. For interior garage slabs, we often provide a Smooth Trowel Finish for a clean, easy-to-sweep surface.
Yes. To protect your investment from oil stains, salt damage, and freeze-thaw cycles, we highly recommend applying a high-quality penetrative sealer. This creates a protective barrier that extends the life of the concrete and keeps the finish looking pristine for years.
PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) measures the compressive strength of the concrete. For driveways and garage slabs, we use a minimum of 32,000 to 4,000 PSI mix with air-entrainment. The tiny air bubbles allow the concrete to expand and contract during Ontario’s freeze-thaw cycles without scaling.
